A truly incredible machine. They were able to keep airborne with incredible damage to fuselage and engines along with brave and skilled airmanship. Thank you to that generation of truly great men.

As an aircraft mechanic, I am amazed by the build quality of these Warbirds. The sheet metal work is flawless, with the edges straight & true perfectly butting up to the next sheet. The countersunk rivets are perfectly flush w/ no gaps or dimples. (That’s denting caused by the gun denting the base sheet.) All this being done w/ a build rate of about one aircraft an hour! After 5 year on the structural assembly line at a medium sized company I would have hard pressed to produce that quality of work at that schedule. God bless the Greatest Generation!

An 82 yr old big war bird that's still airworthy! I salute the dedicated people who work hard to keep the few B17s flying!

I was about 150 feet directly below one that was taking off from the Lawrenceville, GA airport in the rain and fog and appeared in the mist over the pine trees on the other side of the intersection where I was stopped on GA 316. I’ll remember that as long as I live.
