This worked excellent on my 2009 Lexus RX350. There is a common problem with mid 2000s toyota Highlanders and lexus RX transmission, where around 30mph, it will lag and shift rough from 2nd to 3rd. It has not been a major issue, just makes the car feel sluggish and ~delayed~ until you get up to speed. It will also lag going from a complete stop, and sometimes you can also feel it on the downshift. There is a TCU software update that might help, mixed results from what i can find. It did not make a difference for either of my cars.

I've owned two of these gen vehicles, both had this problem. The 2006 RX i owned prior got noticeably better after new fluid but never completely fixed. The newer 2009 had the same issues and got more noticible with new fluid. I bought it a year ago @155k miles, perhaps it was original ATF, i hope not lmao, it was pretty dark but not toasted. I did not change the filter, probably would not have made a difference.

TLDR- I think the problem lies with varnish and some buildup in the valve body, it feels like a solenoid or something delays and wants to shift but doesnt until its too late. No amount of software is going to go in and fix that completely. >> I used half a can of TransTune and the issue was 95% gone in minutes! important details below

Do you just add it to your transmission fluid without removing any? Mine reads that it filled perfectly so do I just add seafoam?

Hello there. I have a Mitsubishi Montero 2005 with a transmission V5A51. It shifts to all gears, except the reverse gear. We are sure that it is the reverse solenoid that is not working. I have a few questions about this product.

1. How does it work?

2. If the fluid is at full, is it recommended to drain a bit for this thing?

3. How much do we have to drive or wait for the liquid to take action on the solenoid?

4. Will this clear up that solenoid?

5. Do we need to get a tranny fluid change after this?
