If you want to see more of these videos, or would like to say thanks for this one, the best way you can do that is by becoming a patron - see the link above :). And a huge thank you to all my existing patrons - you make these videos possible.

In this video, I talk about the roadmap to learning semiconductor physics, and what the driving questions we are trying to answer are.

This is part of my series on semiconductor physics (often called Electronics 1 at university). This is based on the book Semiconductor Physics and Devices by Donald Neamen, as well as the EECS 170A/174 courses taught at UC Irvine.

Hope you found this video helpful, please post in the comments below anything I can do to improve future videos, or suggestions you have for future videos.

Best introduction ever, most of the times students needs introductions like these to know where they are headed rather than digging onto the unknown, thank you TEACHER

Hi Jordan, I just wanted to thank you!! I haven't taken semiconductor physics in a few years and watching these videos really helped me in passing my PhD qualifying exams!

I was searching specific topics all over the whole internet to get some sense in semiconductors. You did magnificent job gathering all together. First time I got to know how these things are put right into place and why the hell quantum mechanics come into play. Thanks sir, you saved a whole subject. 1000 times better than my prof.

Damn i love how specific youve been though my professor never even mentioned quantum he gave a day of semiconductors and thats about it we went straight to diodes but im honestly not understanding things properly i often stop doing the problems because im like but how does this work
