I heard towing a vehicle that costs this much money requires a "special towing service" and it can be hard for cops to get ahold of one sometimes. That could have influenced the cops decision. The cops don't want to be held liable for damaging a multi million dollar car without the proper towing services that have "special insurances" so that they can tow vehicles this expensive.
