What I think of while looking at that:
In case of a repair attempt you don't know how to disassemble it. If the piece is old enough, chances are the maker of it is long out of business and/or no one has records on how it was assembled when new.
Furthermore: If this tooling does not have a break through in the industry, the tool will be obsolete really fast and even if you get to know that this process was being used to assemble the piece, you can't get the tool you need.

That is, if the screw hasn't rusted out or together with its surrounding metal pieces, yet. For that to work the screw has to be, at least in part, ferro magnetic, or for short: from iron/steel. Not stainless.

Now, let's look at that from the persepective of the worker having that thing on their workbench for a repair. 'Well, seems glued together, let's saw off that damaged section and replace it.'
Bye bye saw blade.

Sooo... longevity and repairability left the chat. Just buy a new one. Very sustainable and economical, to buy a new item for ten times the price of a repair...

He's showing it in appropriate uses, where it would replace those cam and post locks that are on pre-fabbed furniture kits. It could certainly work for those and you wouldn't have an exposed head.

Neat idea! But you can't actually tighten it and if the is any corrosion you can never get it apart.

I'm curious as to how tight it can get these screws, but exceedingly neat. Could make some incredibly cool designs being able to hide all fasteners or hardware like this

To me the biggest con of this is the fact that if the bolt (its actually a bolt, not a screw as mentioned) seizes up even the slightest little bit there is not a single way its coming apart again. Its all good as long as the bolt runs with the absolute minimal resistance in the thread.

Very neat. My worry would be the cost of the fasteners. They don't look like simple bolts and threaded inserts. Likely this set up would be for special projects only.
