Fl studio just draw the chord select all and use the arpeggiate tool, it creates an arpeggio out of the notes selected

Cool idea. Another advantage of doing this is that you can apply groove to the recorded MIDI and automate the percentage. I like to have every track in my song set to differing percentages of a groove, or sometimes even multiple grooves, with each being randomly automated in subtle amounts, so nothing feels quantized, or groove-quantized, which can sound equally stale and predictable. The result is a coherent groove but every individual part has life and isn't perfectly synced or predictable

That's nice! Not to be anti-ableton (i think it does has better features in a lot of instances) but fl studio has all of this built into the piano roll, can change the speed, how many octaves it spans, invert them, change duration, do anything really
