The Orient Kamasu can be found around $200 today; the Mako III is surely going that direction as well, along with the Mako Chronograph. Still, they offer more than any Seiko "5KX", and i daresay it competes easily with a Turtle if as desk divers we ignore the professional specifications. Orient is also easier to find in many markets than Glycine.

We have a HUGE problem. This Mako 3 is NOT an entirely other watch...thats 8 times the price. Jesus, why cant this watch just be the other watch?! Then we wouldn't have a HUGE problem you see lol

I've always liked Orient, and own several, but never really took a liking to the Mako until now. This one really stands out. I do think they missed an opportunity, though: having this watch with just the date (no day) would REALLY make the dial pop, IMHO. This one is on my list, for sure. Thanks for a great vid!

The ivory/champagne dial has a color pallet I’ve used on many custom cars in Gran Turismo. Champagne + green + bronze + orange = me! I must have that watch!!!

This is a Kamasu with a new dial presentation. I love my green Kamasu and might pull the trigger on this! That Champaign dial is slick. Tks!

Dave over at Just the Watch showed this beside the Kamasu and the Mako 3 has a Kamasu case, bezel and bracelet with different dial and bezel insert. I have two Kamasus and love the dial and handset on this new Mako configuration. I especially like your colorway. Nice review!

I have an Orient Mako 2 for several years and I'm not regretted to bought it.

Ivory with olive and khaki is my absolute jam. Pair that with a Bambino 38mm and you've got a winning two-watch combo from a single brand.

picked one of these up for 203 usd, pretty happy with the fact it's sapphire, looking forward to it arriving tomorrow.

Literally wearing this exact watch right now. Will say it looks much better in person than it does on the site, thought it was white but it's champagne. Got the discount when purchasing . Most of my watches are Seiko; overall I'm very happy with my purchase.

Great looking watch! Love the ivory / champagne dial. I like almost as much as the JDM Orange Sunburst. Thanks Randy 👍👍👍

For those new to Nato straps I would suggest cutting off the tail end of the strap and sealing it with a lighter to prevent fraying. This way you get a thinner, less puffy single pass strap with the nato feel. From there you can experiment with the full strap and see how you like it. The nato does need time to break in and soften a bit so it can fit all the contours of your wrist and that helps it lay flatter over time.

I have a Mako 2 Pepsi and I love it but I am having problems choosing the right bracelet for it; so far I have attached a jubilee one. What do you think is the best bracelet for Mako 2/Mako 3? Jubilee, oyster or mashed?

Excellent review of an excellent company. I have the Ray2 which quenched my thirst for many years till I got my Sub., and the Chicane, probably the best homage to the Explorer without sacrificing its own identity( and it’s accuracy is at 0sec/day). Orient is an excellent value and is part of the collection with my numerous Seiko’s.

Hi, my name is Ryan Guilbeau in Chuckey, TN.
I’d like to ask a question concerning woofer hook ups.
The equipment I have is a Yamaha RN303 stereo receiver. I have 4 speakers taking up the A/B channels on the back. If the B speakers are taken up… how would I hook up the woofer or can at all? Thank you for your help.

Isn't the Glycine considerably more expensive though? Seems a bit of a strange comparison bearing in mind the cost difference. I like both watches but here in Switzerland I'd pay nearly double for the Glycine over the Mako 3.

Nice review. I just bought the Seiko 38mm with the champagne dial and I'm really enjoying that color after years of traditional black dials. So this Mako 3 really jumped off the screen when your video alert came up.

I can definitely see this watch joining my other Orients... just for that color.

Ordered this exact model on Friday from Marc. Should be here in the next 36 hours. First watch I've ordered in almost two years. I was going through withdrawals! Can't wait to see it in person. Really wasn't looking for another dive watch, but I thought this looked dressy enough to fill the dress watch jones I've had recently.

5:17 the factor I`ve c hosen the Mako 2 over all the low cost diver is the thin taper shaped bezel. Looks so nice imho.
6:29 not yet :) the spring pins will bend and the wiggling will apear as in Mako 2.
