I hate to say it, but I was so hype for the next iteration of smash, but after watching this informative review, I now know that all of my predictions unfortunately became true. I knew the 3ds hardware wouldn't be able to do smash brothers justice in terms of graphics. Just look at my main, Mario. I was really hoping they would at least go with the 3d world design, but now he looks like a god damn banana.
And don't get me started on the characters. You'd think Nintendo would at least know the difference between Metroid from space, and Samson from the Bible. And arguably their biggest gaming icon, Zelda, was misnamed Link. Must have been a translation error, which makes it even worse. Japan got the game first, and they still didn't have enough time to properly translate?
I'm also fairly disappointed that the story line was altered from brawl to cater to PS2 fans. C'mon Nintendo, why not add a character like PacMan instead of Glover. And If you were gonna remove the Blue Blur, at least add the Blue Bomber to the roster.
And probably the worst thing, by far, is the way they've simplified the fighting system. No blocking or dodging? That's even worse than the worst game in the series, Melee. They got the physics to perfect in Brawl. The way the characters could float back to the stage after being knocked off made it so much better.
Oh boy, and let's not forget smash run. We all know that it was Activision's idea to incorporate smash run into the game at the last second, just to further promote their Skylanders figures. I'm actually surprised Spyro wasn't incorporated into the roster as a last second clone, like how they added Luigi to cater to the worthless Luigi's mansion fans.
And about the online play. At least Brawl had online play. It may have been laggy, but that's better than none at all.

Nonetheless, it's still smash brothers, so it gets a 10/10, regardless of how good the game actually is, since no one can argue against the fact that it's still the best video game series in the galaxy.
