This movie has such a cool feeling to it. Just how they are always on the run and the blue night background is so neat

My favorite movie of all time....watched it countless times and it's my go-to comfort movie. The T800/Arnold felt like a father figure even to me growing up and I cried at the end when he goes into the molten steel giving the thumbs up and the Terminator vision goes all glitchy then fades out while John cries into Sarah. Words just can't describe how much I love it. A timeless classic. Still feels modern despite being from 1991

I saw this movie the week it opened in 1991 at the Odeon Leicester Square. To this day, for me, probably the best movie experience theatrically. It was just outstanding.

I always liked watching this scene as a kid because MINIGUN GO

But years later, I recognize just how powerful a computer the Terminator would have to be to calculate bullet trajectories for a weapon that fires TWO THOUSAND ROUNDS a minute to ensure that he did maximum property damage but inflicted zero casualties. The actor who plays him is a legend but the character in universe is a fucking legend too.

One of THE best science fiction movies. I particularly like the way the T-800 behaves more and more human after they flip the switch on his chip. Just his stopping and saying "Trust me" before walking out is not a thing a machine would do. In T1 the T-800 would have simply killed everyone and destroyed everything in the name of efficiency. This one? He takes on pretty much the entire LAPD and wrecks almost every vehicle they have without anything worse than bruises and shock-all because he promised John Connor he would...

Also, this shows just how dangerous a T-800 could be. He could have wiped out the entire police force all by himself with nothing more than weapons in hand. With 2029 tech and weapons? Well...

What makes the action in T2 so outstanding and timeless is that even though what's happening is outrageous, it's also necessary -- The Terminator uses the minigun because it's the weapon for the job, not because he wants to be a badass. No one-liners as he's shooting, just methodical destruction with restraint amidst the insanity.

You know why this scene is so goddam cool? Because Arnold looks downright DIGNIFIED amid all the violence--he just stands there like a rock, like something totally impermeable to assault. Today's action films are as frantic as a street cock fight. They excite, but they do not awe.

So beautifully terrifying how the terminator is such a surgical machine...not killing when he doesn't have to.

3:22 I remember the whole audience in the fully packed cinema lol'ing at that shot. Jimmy Cameron at his finest. Good times.
