This is such an underrated scene. The way he covers his face and then the tear down his face... every detail of this scene is meaningful and beautiful

There is something so beautiful about a man crying for a woman not out of sorrow but out of relief and the knowledge that she is well and not in pain anymore. We don’t see men in love crying so often, and when they do it’s mostly because of something negative like losing her or pining for her. Not that it’s shallow, but there’s an aspect of self-interest there.

But here Anthony knows getting her in his life is quite possible at this point. But he breaks down upon learning that Kate is okay, and feels so much love towards her that it overwhelms and moves him to tears. This was such a tender moment in the show when we get to see that beyond all the intense attraction we see him feeling towards her throughout the season, he actually deeply cares for her and loves her. And how his happiness is tied to hers. Like he is relieved to know she still exists in the world and is healthy, and all his walls break down this instant making him vulnerable to his feelings. Violet sees it too and that’s why she says that it’s unthinkable finding someone you can love like that. Anthony deserved a hug in this scene.

I always think what Violet says is the most beautiful and heartbreaking thing. Saying she would still choose a life with Edmund even low, she knows how it would end is exactly what Anthony needed to hear. He didn't want love because he knew there would be pain. But listening to his mother, he finally wanted it, despite the pain which may follow.
