From what I've heard, Paul Prenter was "the real poison in Freddie Mercury's life". I also think he wanted to prevent Queen from performing at Live Aid. But this is what I've been told. I don't know this for a fact. I'll try to read up on it.

He was a piece of crap. There's a story about him giving Freddie something before he blew out the candles on his cakes at the famous birthday party. Look at Freddie's face, he looked dazed. Apparently, he told someone, I can't see very well.

sounds like if not for Paul Prenter Freddie would still be alive. Seeing as how Paul also died from AIDS, have to wonder what would have been had he never darkened Freddie's door.
