My grandma was a little girl in 1948. She still remembers her elder beautiful sister Nema who was engaged to be shortly married to a handsome young man in Deir Ayyob village. Her beautiful sister was shut dead by an IDF sniper in 1948 invasion of their village. She didn't understand then that her beloved sister is dead. She thought she was sleeping. Again in 1967, my grandma Naeema was a young woman married to my grandpa Issa with 5 children and a baby. Pregnant and alone she was expelled from her village and did not have the chance to say goodbye to my grandpa who was also killed by IDF Militias. My mother was only 3 years old then. She doesn't remember how her dad, my grandpa look. No photos were found for him. I did not get to know him. I just hear my grandma still sings lullabies for him, her home, and the fig tree near the house they used to live in from time to time.

My grandfather was in the 1948 nakba, his brother was killed by the illegal settlers, and his father was injured. My pop left Palestine when he was 16 yrs old. He lived his remaining days in Chile never to see his family and homeland again. I'm proud to have Palestinian blood through my veins 🇵🇸✌️
