Alot of the problems in USA boils down to corporations not wanting to pay a liveable wage

When I worked at Tesla, all the engineers were Indians on work visas. Cheaper than paying American engineers...

Why are they pushing for Americans not to get a college education but saying it is alright for foreigners to have one?

Corporate Amazonian here. Can confirm the number of foreigners with H1-B visas at Amazon. What’s wild is that as a born American I can’t even get into a graduate program for engineering but many of my peers at Amazon have graduate degrees at public universities who are not citizens. There’s something deeply wrong with that.

It’s not a dem vs republicans issue. It’s always been about working class vs Wall Street..

Destroy our education system, and then complain about foreign skilled workers. That’s rich!

I work in tech. These jobs pay stupendous amounts of money. Train Americans to do those jobs and we wouldnt need to import talent.

There are actually a lot of software engineers unemployed right now. A lot of Indians are now managers at US companies and just hire their friends on H1B. We don't need more H1Bs.

Not one H-1B visa should be given until all US workers are employed first. Insanity that we have all of these graduates coming out of school that can't get a job.

H-1B is a tool for companies to push down wages of Tech and engineering jobs. There isn't a shortage of Tech workers there is a shortage of tech workers who will accept relatively low wages.

Most tech outfits abused the H1-B system in order to hire cheaper tech workers from India

H1-B visas should only be allowed if no American citizen can not be found. Too many Americans have lost their jobs, and college students are having a hard time getting jobs.

I am a software developer. I cannot find a job because I'm not H1-B. I'm a US CITIZEN. There are over half a million H1-B's in the us right now. They only want H1-B because its cheap labor! We have a surplus of US citizens that are developers that can't find There is not a shortage...there is a surplus.. Foreign aliens over US Citizens yet again! Haven't we lived like that long enough???

The economy is bad, tons of people were laid off in the last 2 or 3 years, and they are still unable to get repositioned! Time to prioritize people at home!

I've seen and worked with lots of H1B visa workers. They are not top tier people, just run of the mill IT workers who displaced American workers by getting paid less. That's the unfortunate truth.

It's almost like a billionaire POTUS and billionaire donors/advisors/co-Presidents don't care about the voters but do care about making more billions.

I know some of these workers and they will accept subpar conditions because they want a green card and they wanna stay in America and not have to go back to India . The corporations are trying to save money by hiring them.

Results of America's long term neglect in education and wages.

The H-1B visa program has always been about increasing profits for US corporations. It suppresses salaries and wages because "captive" foreign workers fill the designated job slots rather than American citizens. The "qualifications" issue brought up by the H-1B defenders is a red herring because the corporations prefer to perform very little training of all their new workers.
