I’ll never forget that electrifying night when I saw the Chick Corea Elektric Band live in Bielefeld in 1987— right from the front row of the Oetkerhalle! It was an unforgettable experience. The band was on fire from the very first note. Chick’s fingers flew across the keys like lightning, and the sheer synergy between the musicians was mind-blowing. Dave Weckl’s drumming was explosive, precise, and mesmerizing — you could feel every beat deep in your chest. John Patitucci laid down those thunderous bass lines with effortless groove, and Frank Gambale’s guitar solos were absolutely searing.

The sound was crystal clear, and every solo felt like a personal conversation. You could see every gesture, every smile between the players — a masterclass in musical communication and joy. It wasn’t just a concert; it was a celebration of pure creative energy. I left the hall in absolute awe, inspired and completely jazzed up.

One of the greatest live performances I’ve ever witnessed. Thank you, Chick. That night lives on forever in my soul!!!

I have to admit, I've been largely paralyzed since Chick's death. I mean, I've kept my head up -- I've been motivated, inspired, and done a ton of practicing, composing, listening; but I haven't been able to shake this sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. You guys are all personal heroes to me, and this tribute filled me up. I don't know how to thank you. I can't wait to hear the release of the live material, and I sincerely hope to see you all together again soon!

Okay, I'm done. Time to make some music!

Thank you, Dave, John, Frank and Eric, for doing this. You guys are awesome!

Chick Corea's Electrics Band was an incredible moment in music history, you could say.
All the records have that magical, almost Mozartian touch, which is part of his style, his signature.

But in my opinion, the first Album and "Inside out" are the strongest albums of this period of Chick.

Now, talking about Scott Henderson. Scott is an incredible guitarist, with a deep and unrepeatable style. And, with all that is said, the concept that Scott brought to the first Electric band, was never repeated again. His very peculiar improvisations make him for me a kind of Thelonious Monk of the electric guitar. I do not believe, with all due respect, that Frank Gambale, who is a great virtuoso, has brought the same conceptual and musical depth to the chick band as Scott Henderson.

For example, one of the great, magical, and unforgettable compositions of the first album is the track "Cool Weasel Boogie", a serialist and minimalist work that continuously repeats the same theme in a crescendo mode.Well, Scott's work on that track is fabulous, an outpouring of good taste and incomparable conceptualism. I never heard that magic again in the work of Chick, whom I consider one of my idols.

If you have any doubts about what I'm talking about, listen to the discographies of both guitarists and compare them.
Scott Henderson's compositions are timeless.
Frank Gambale's music, although I repeat, he is an incredible virtuoso, is pure rhetoric.

Dave and Chick's duet on Tale Of Daring (Inside Out) in an absolutely incredible moment on that record. But another moment of great ESP of improvisation between a drummer and a pianist can be heard in the song "Eshun Agwe" by Gonzalo Rubalcaba from the album "Antiguo".

Thank you for a fascinating exposé into the world of world-class musicians playing world-class music! Chick founded my two favorite bands of all time, Return to Forever and the Chick Corea Electrik band, and each had world-class virtuosos. Rest in the greatest peace, Chick. Thank you for an excellent tribute to one of the visionary music masters.

Thank you a lot for this LIVESTREAM! You guys were like Ninja turtles for me, and Chick, of course, was like Master Splinter. Absolutely brilliant and historical fusion band, one of the greatest of all time. Rest in peace, Chick!

Dave and Chick's duet after the opening melody in Tale Of Daring (Inside Out) - to this day holds up to the test of time. No drummer & piano player had a more true improvisational ESP in the moment than Chick and Dave. And that shouldn't be lost on any of us.

these extraordinary but humble guys made the soundtracks of my life for 30 years. I will never forget this privilege to be able to enjoy jazz music. it’s one of the most beautiful presents to see them together talking about their history. I will continue to enjoy their art as long as live. Looking forward to listening their last album with The Maestro.

I think it was 1983. I was at rock bottom. I'd been getting weaker and sicker for 8 months. No one could diagnose it. I didn't know what was happening, but it seemed I was slowly dying. Return to Forever was was playing at the Berkeley Community Theater and had a ticket. When I went to see Return to Forever, the effect it had was overpowering. I left actually feeling well--and happy, and I continued to get better. I recovered. I knew that the music was full of transformation energy. Return to Forever had brought something that had cured me, though I couldn't explain it. But now I understand what happened.

When you guys explained Chick Corea's energy and said "It was like he brought all the power in the universe through his hands, his whole being, " that and what you said about the solos being "conversations" that could never be repeated. Return to Forever had an amazing conversation with me. Your concert was sublime, and it healed me. Chick Corea embodied Godliness. Rest well, Chick. I owe you everything.

I miss Chick even more after viewing this amazing tribute. I saw the Electric Band June 18th 1987 at The Chance, in Poughkeepsie, NY. It was so amazing and intense. The place was packed with a very enthusiastic crowd. Pretty fired up & rowdy for a jazz show. They did multiple encores, and I wondered if all their shows were so long? Such a great memory... RIP Chick

Every morning, while driving my daughter to school, which was a 30min. drive, I would play only Elektric Band CDs. I would explain to her, to the best of my knowledge what was going on. I'm sure it drove her nuts but she was very cordial about it because she new how important this music was to me and how much I loved everything about the Elektric Band. Thank you guys...

I loved when I First saw All of You, along with Chick, Playing "99 Flavors" (Live). Chick takes You through the Chorus Once and then, takes completely Off with a Keyboard Solo that was Unreal?!
