It is so EASY to install US thermostats. Here in the UK - you need an extra box to connect to the boiler as well and the wiring is more complicated.

I love it. We installed ours without the back plate for a cleaner look. The white back plate can make it look a little chunky. Great video!

I installed a Nest Thermostat 3 in my dad’s house a few months ago, I’d definitely love to have this one over it. It looks so nice! I also love that it has Matter support man. 😄

The click as you rotate sounds a bit like crickets in your the back yard, but that is a very nice pebble design.

Is the display in this not as bright as the 3rd generation? Some people have complained about that. Do you notice that it was dimmer or a definite difference in the display brightness?

I am happy they can detect potential HVAC issues. Unfortunately, my 3rd gen has destroyed the control board of my furnace twice. I wonder if that issue has been fixed in the fourth gen.

Do you really need to install the metal plate if just mounting to the wall ( using trim piece)?

the only issue I have with it is that for the setup you need to do with the phone. setting up on 3rd gen was way better
