In this video, I will show you how to quickly calculate how many yards of concrete you will need without using a concrete calculator.

--------

Example from the video:
20x10 patio = 200 square feet
200 ÷ 81 = 2.5 cubic yards @ 4" thick.

To convert this number for a slab with a different thickness do the following:
1" thick slab = 2.5 yards X 0.25 = 0.625 cubic yards
2" thick slab = 2.5 yards X 0.50 = 1.25 cubic yards
3" thick slab = 2.5 yards X 0.75 = 1.875 cubic yards
4" thick slab = 2.5 yards X 1.00 = 2.5 cubic yards
5" thick slab = 2.5 yards X 1.25 = 3.125 cubic yards
6" thick slab = 2.5 yards X 1.50 = 3.75 cubic yards
7" thick slab = 2.5 yards X 1.75 = 4.375 cubic yards
8" thick slab = 2.5 yards X 2.00 = 5 cubic yards

There are numbers you can use. But I don't use 81, I use 79 in case it's deep. And then add a half yard. Do u finish?

What if I’m pouring for a quadrangle shaped pad that’s 18’ w by 24’ L by 4’ w by 16’ L by 6” D? How would I go about calculating concrete amount, for that?

Multiply .25 by however many inches thick you want it. ((L×W)/81)×(inches thick×.25) = yardage.

U can’t explain, square foot includes the height not just length and width, also how much square foot does a yard cover
