Best tutorial of the four I watched while fixing my computer, a whole bunch of options, back to back.
Also, for people watching trying to fix your computer, don't skip one of the fixes just because it doesn't seem like the likely culprit. I hadn't updated my computer in the past few weeks, yet what finally fixed it was uninstalling the quality updates (fix #8).

I was starting to lose any hope of getting my machine back. I read one of the early comments recommending you plug along and try each of the fixes, and for them it wasn't until about step 8 that they were successful. I did the same. It wasn't until I rolled back the last quality update that I was able to get my machine back. Many thanks for the detailed step-by-step approach to recovery.

Thank you for helping me!! I just found this video after having a problem with my Surface Pro 4. The 3rd solution worked for me and it is back up running again. I know this video is over a year old, but it still helped me get my computer back up and running again. Thank you again!!

Hey I actually fixed it
Let me explain
I used the method at 4:12
No other method from any video worked for me, if that's the case for you, you gotta try this
In that you have to take command prompt and type that chkdsk /f /r c:
(The c in the end specifies it is for c drive)
This takes a couple of hours, it seems kind of stuck sometimes, but it's not, it just takes time
So just put the computer in charging and put a cooler fan, if you have any, under the laptop to prevent over heating, as this is a long process
( Or just keep it near an ac or something )
Once it is finished you may probably see that it shows they removed some files from the drive, which seemed as the trouble makers
In this video, he just said to do this for C drive, however I actually did this for the rest (E, D &F) too by just typing the respective drive in the end of the same code (chkdsk...) instead of C
Altogether it takes a lot of time
Like I started with C drive at 9 AM in the morning and completed all 4 at about 6PM in the evening
After everything is done, just type exit to exit the command prompt and click the "turn off pc" option
And lastly after that, start your computer again by pressing the power button
In my case it started normally as before with all problems solved
Maybe run some anti virus scans and upgrade them just in case to avoid such situations in future
Would love to know if this worked out for anyone
Good Luck mate

This is my first Youtube comment and I think this video deserves it. I tried basically 8 methods in the video and the 8th worked. It took me some time to watch and follow the steps, but it's all paid off. Feeling so blessed! Thank you!

Many many many thanks to you for producing and sharing these multiple solutions and a great guide to help laymen like me. Solution 6 worked for me to get into safe mode and then to system restore which is currently underway and seems to have worked. Trying to restore.

Really appreciate your efforts to prescribe so many alternatives, very patiently, and systematically. I ended up doing a System Restore to the older version of Windows OS and got it back to bootup.

i tried the startup repair, chkdsk, system32 config. the chkdsk was the longest wait, took me 2hrs with no result. AND THEN tried the restore system, it was successful and worked for me!!! i was able to check what went wrong. it was only ONE program that failed to update that caused this problem for 1year! the intel processor graphics!
no changes in my c: drive, as well as my partition where i store important files. even my post-it notes are there!!!

Thank you so much, man! you saved me a lot of heartache if ever i were to wipe clean my drives!
