Louisiana is going to mandate and pay for 10 Commandments posters in the classroom, and as a teacher, I couldn't get posters for multiplication tables, parts of speech, etc. in my room unless I bought them myself.

Alyssa is right that it's all about showmanship. As a teacher I can tell you that posting the Ten Commandments will be as effective as having "Don't Be a Bully" signs in classrooms. It's just wallpaper and doesn't effect anyone's behavior. She's also right about the amount of money it will take to defend this that should be going to other educational needs. Shameful.

I disagree with the gentleman. If you want the child to know the Bible and God you should put your child in Catholic school or a religious school. It wouldn't be fair to other religious folks who are not Christians.

That ad by the Lincoln Project was beyond effective. Everyone needs to share on all social media platforms.

You have three responsibilities. Keep my kids safe. Do not abuse my kid. Mentally or physically. And teach my kid the necessary requirements to pass the third grade. That is your only responsibility thank you very much keep your religion and your politics to yourself

Yes, it is unconstitutional for public schools to require this. It violates the Establishment clause.

When I was hungry you put up posters of the Ten Commandments in my classroom while making sure I didn’t get lunch at school. ~ Matthew 25:42.

Thomas Jefferson pushed for freedom FROM religion as well as freedom OF religion, the basis for separation of Church and State. Republicans have forgotten the freedom FROM religion part.
