The ACLU and other civil liberties groups say they plan to sue Louisiana over the state's controversial new Ten Commandments law, which mandates them to be displayed in every public school classroom. NBC News' Marissa Parra and former assistant state attorney of Broward County Maria Schneider join José Díaz-Balart to weigh in.

Im curious those defending this how they would feel if Muslim or Hindu edicts were mandated in their local classrooms. My point is who decides which religion is the right religion to display in our taxpayer funded schools?

Kids in kindergarten need to stop committing adultery, after they ask and find out what it is! Let's see the teacher explain that!

How about teaching the constitution to the children for some reason that's been lost in the school teachings.

If parents wants schools that teach their beliefs, they are free to do so with their own children...but not schools funded with public tax dollars. why is this so hard to understand?

I actually have no problem with displaying the Ten Commandments, as long as you also display Hammurabi's Code and the Twelve Tables of Roman Law.

I also don't have a problem with a Christian Bible in every classroom, as long as you also have the Torah, Vedic scriptures, the Book of Mormon, works of Confucius, and Norse Sagas.

What Christian Nationalists often like to do is place a Bible in a pubic school library, post the Ten Commandments on the wall, and then cry oppression when removed because there are no other works of theology/mythology provided.

You can have religious texts in a pubic school, you can't just endorse any one over another.

So they want to post the 10 Commandments in every schoolhouse, courthouse, doghouse and outhouse...just living by them would be much easier.

Let's keep the USA a place where we respect all religions, establish (promote) no religion, and not prohibit any.

the first amendment contradicts the first commandment, they are mutually exclusive
first amendment: freedom to practice any religion or none
first commandment: you will worship our god

Proposed wording for the context statement: This poster was mandated by a group of people who want the United States to have a Christian Nationalist government, in violation of the First Amendment to our constitution.

Trump is not mentioned in the Bible. But the word idolatry IS mentioned in the Bible.

In the Bible, Idolatry is regarded as the most heinous of sins and affront to God.

In the Bible, idolatry is the worship of something or someone other than God as if it were God. The first of the Ten Commandments in the Bible prohibits idolatry, stating, "You shall have no other gods before me".

They should post these in front of the entrance to Mar-a-Largo since Trump has broken 8/10 documented. Remember how Trump said the Bible was his favorite book? Favorite how? Favorite to set his cheeseburger on when he eats? He’s never read it or heard it taught obviously. Oh, “Hypocrisy”, thy name is MAGAGOP…

This is 100% a strategic move to get this issue before the MAGA supreme court, just like they did with mifepristone.

No outrage, that Texas did the same last year. Should be an obvious violation of separation of church and state.
