OVERCOME (A Mari/Omori Fansong)

Okay I felt really bad not uploading like, at all for the past month... so I knew I had to come out swingin!
I absolutely love the contrast between Mari's spirit and Something, how docile and lovely she is compared to the fear inducing, trauma ridden creature lurking in Headspace. I tried to capture that feeling in song form, and it makes for such a weird mix of soft and aggressive tones... I think it's pretty good!

You know as scary as "Something" is this song makes it seem as if Mari and Something are two different entities fighting for control. One fighting to forgive and one fighting for revenge

Mari seems so caring and forgiving, while Something is aggressive and to me sounds like its blaming Sunny. Thank you for composing this, have a great day! :D

You really got that balance - SOMETHING was never malicious and hardly even angry! This is beautiful and I love how Something and Mari are blended together and all the nods to game elements and how she says that no one is to blame - I hope you're right that she would realize that no one is to blame which means she isn't to blame either and it's not oh my god I am a horrible sister it's all my fault I didn't notice etc., our perfectionist who would sooner throw herself down those stairs than hurt someone she loved so much or really make any mistake whatsoever!

I haven’t played much of Omori so a lot of the clever lyrics are probably going over my head, but DAMN it’s a good sign if you can be obsessed with a song for a fandom you’ve barely heard about!

The contrast between the gentle, comforting melody to the harsh, snarling chorus is genuinely magical, I cannot get enough of it. This character seems loving, but also deeply hurt and not ready to forgive.

And the art, as always! More on the simple side this time, but less is certainly more in this case. The girl with the blank eyes and eerily still pose (I know it’s an unmoving drawing but STILL it’s conveyed very well) are very unsettling. And then how you made it into the eye thing! Who let you become an amazing composer, singer, AND artist?? Seems broken to me honestly, you must be hacking life

In conclusion, another wonderful song as always. Definitely going to add it to my playlist once it’s on Spotify 👁️

I feel like this is almost... 'Something' singing about the real life Mari. Some mix of Sunny's own mind and a dead girl's ghost trying so hard to help him even if, especially BECAUSE it's scary. And the gentleness of the words hurts all the more, when one _wants_ to punish themself...

Oh my god, this gave me chills....
As with every Omori song you make, I can feel the emotions of each song even though I know absolutely nothing about the characters and story of Omori, and I think that this fact perfectly captures why your music is so great. You can just show the character's story through your songs so well, that even someone who doesn't know anything about the games your songs are about can comprehend what's happening. Even with your UT/DR songs, I think that if I showed them to a person who doesn't know UT/DR quite well, they'd still understand who the characters are and be able to piece together parts of their story simply from your music- and that's just amazing and really shows your talent.

Even your art is absolutely amazing, as always... I just admire the things you create so much.
