I agree 100% about going to the movies alone. I used to do it all the time. I wish I still could but either the hubby, kids or cat have to follow me everywhere these days. I can't even use the bathroom alone... 🙃

I love going to the movies alone. You get go whenever you want instead of depending on when it’s the best day/time for whom ever you go with, no one talks to me when I’m trying to hear what the characters are saying, and I like to stay after the credits to see the cast/crew behind the film while enjoying the score or soundtrack. ‘X’ is definitely a must see theater experience. I haven’t felt this uneasy about a film since I saw Hereditary. I give it a 9/10

Saw this Thursday night and think I'm going to see it either tonight again on tomorrow. I LOVED this film, such a great throwback to 70s/80s slashers. They did such a great job of building this creepy atmosphere right from the get go and the score was amazing! I thought the slow burn aspect was great for this film but can understand if people aren't a fan of that kind of stuff. That pond scene you were talking about Mike was one of the most intense scenes and has a great payoff later! Thanks for the review Mike 🤟

The end scene was just a trailer for the prequel. It called Pearl. And I can’t wait to see it. And the sequel he’s currently writing. My slasher heart is happy.

Seeing this tomorrow. Right I run a dementia unit full time. This is a highly stressful yet rewarding job. In the UK Cineworld cinemas offer a monthly subscription where I pay £15 a month and can go see as many movies as I like. When I get a day off there is nothing better than heading to the cinema on my own to just relax and watch a movie. If u go early and see a matinee the screen is usually empty anyway. Nothing wrong with a solo trip whatsoever. PS cheers for the birthday shout out yesterday.

I am probably president of the Ti West fan club. Loved this movie. This felt more like Texas Chainsaw Massacre than the remake on Netflix. Loved the characters and the little Landslide montage with the cast and the villain split screen. Fabulous. Loved the setting and authentic 70’s feeling.

Mike u should go back and rewatch Innkeepers. I liked it much better after repeat viewings.

Although this is my fave West film I really like House of the Devil and it’s a close second

Big time Texas Chainsaw mixed with Bad Grandpa vibes with this one.

I loved the movie and was invested the whole time. I can agree that it did take awhile for the kills, it didn’t bother me though especially looking back on the line “you can’t just change the script halfway through the movie” lol

Watched it alone because sometimes you really have to do it on your own. Loved the movie but I thought it took forever. Think the first kill doesn't happen until 1hr and 15 minutes into the movie. The shots and editing though are amazing! I was captivated by the shots honestly and I agree the characters were all likeable. I think the comedy sold the movie for me, the dialogue never missed a beat. Loved the little homages they snuck in though.

Nothing wrong with going to the movies alone. I’ve even eaten alone and my friends think I’m weird for it 😂

It reminded me of The Visit by M. Night Shamalamadingdong with the creepy ass old couple 😂 Overall, I enjoyed the movie!
