The fact is one of the main reasons that most youth and High School pitchers are so inconsistent throwing strikes is because they do not properly use their lead arm. There is no question that the lead arm used correctly allows you to use it much like you would a scope on a rifle and with proper technique even allows you to create more velocity. Watch this High School pitcher drive his lead arm and glove directly to home plate with force and keep driving it there until right before landing. This gives him perfect direction to the target and adds velocity to his speed of movement away from the rubber and into landing creating more force into landing, thus more arm speed, thus more velocity.
