In fact if you feel like your velocity is not what it should be, obviously you are leaking velocity. The first place you should check is to see if you are drifting with your front knee when you land. The easiest way to do this is to make sure you land with your knee over your ankle, and your foot pointing right to home plate. In addition make sure that you are landing heel to toe or flat footed. If you land toe first, you're knee will drift until your heel lands.
