If you’re using a higher speed combo and can’t get the mini-turbo trick off the second ramp consistently, you can drift off the second ramp and get a mini-turbo trick off the third ramp instead, which I find more consistent

I was practicing this and noticed that if you angle it right you can actually go much further up the rocky section drifting off it and land a little behind where the boulder falls with a orange or purple mini turbo

that is so funny. i just finished playing mk 8 waiting for my family and as i do that i go on yt to speed up the time. what do i see? the same exact track. exact combo (all the pieces). that i played 30 seconds prior.you just made my day

For anyone struggling to get your mini turbo off in time to mini turbo trick off the second ramp (like I was):

know that holding a direction in the air slowly turns your kart to face that direction. So if you’re like me, holding right in the air after jumping off the first ramp because you want to land in a rightward-drift, you’re inadvertently turning your kart to the right, making it more difficult to charge a mini turbo once you land. Instead, either don’t hold anything until right before you land, or hold left while in the air, then hold right just before landing so that you can very easily charge your mini turbo before the second ramp once you land from the first ramp!

It’s also important that you jump off the first ramp aimed slightly leftward if you weren’t already doing that. And you want to trick off the first ramp as early as you possibly can so that you land from the first jump early enough to charge a mini turbo before the second. The best way to trick as early as possible is to shake your controller as you approach the turn, thus buffering your trick input.

Hope this helps someone because I was personally really struggling to get it to work until I realized this!
