I have one child with sever autism and one who is non autistic who is the eldest they are close in age, 2 yrs apart. This definitely makes me realize I need to make sure my eldest is getting as much of my attention as my youngest with ASD..

i'd be mad too. the entire experience was supposed to be helping her and her family and her mom basically guilt trips her using her two younger autistic children as scapegoats for not giving her older child enough attention. And i get that special needs children need more attention but come on; you have three kids, not two kids and a helper. should she be more helpful towards her siblings, sure; but it sounds like her mother just dropped her once her other kids were diagnosed and that's not fair. it was downright manipulative for the mother to use her other children like that.

When I was 14 my mom had another kid I was very upset and finding out he had down syndrome didn't make it better i kbow how this girl felt...betrayed. Like you just got let down really bad and like with all things you don't like but can't change I slowly accepted it and eventually learned to love him.

My brother is older with special needs and growing up was hard bc he got and still gets most of my moms attention. He is my entire world and is my whole reason for going and doing special ed. But that does not make it any less difficult to live with.

The mother is just being so selfish towards her oldest daughter. I have autism as well. She should just have some love for her younger siblings.

Seriously what is this girl on?! "I've had a way worse childhood than anyone else"?!?!? Um... I can think of at least a dozen places in the world where children are dying due to war, famine, disease and poverty and she's sitting there in her nice clothes and heels, her hair styled all nice claiming to have a worse childhood? As for the having to deal with her mum having kids after 11 years? Sure it would be a shock but you put your big girl panties on and giddy on up! I had my mum and dad all to myself till I was 10 then my dad moved in with my step mum and her baby boy and yeah when I first visited them it was a shock coz my dad wasn't spending all his time with me he had an 8 month old to contend with. He's now been diagnosed at age 11 with autism, dyspraxia and SPD and I love him to pieces. I honestly don't understand how people can hold that much resentment towards a child who didn't ask to be born or have a learning disability xxx

I don't agree with this girl but I understand. I'm the oldest of 4 and the two younger one aren't even in school yet so I know what it's like to get no attention. I know that it makes you feel alone because all of your big life moment you have to go through them alone. It's the worse feeling in the world.
