Very happy to hear this. Medicaid would rather pay to have people’s teeth pulled out than pay for a cap/root canal/crown. Your teeth matter so much from how you eat to your self confidence. I’m willing to bet you will not be hired at a decent job if you have no front teeth 🦷 😢

what about us who got denied for years and lost our teeth... they could of been saved.... so where are our implants!

I hope they expand that in other states; there was a bill to expand it from $1000/ yr to $2000 here in WV, but the republican legislature voted against it.

Medicaid is now prison care. Actually worse. 3 weeks they did a root canal on my front tooth but now wont give me a crown. The whole tooth is jacked up. I thought they covered front teeth? Now its just going to snap off and they will have to pull it anyway. Also they dont cover wisdom teeth. I have a fractured wisdom tooth that is abcessed and i keep having to take rounds of antibiotics. They told me oral surgeon but i dont have the money for that. So eventually that infection will spread. They do cover some generic medicines, and i can get a physical every year, but if something happens and goes wrong, and your on medicaid and dont have the money, your up the creek without a paddle.

That's all well and fine until it a dentist tries to get any work approved! Last time I needed a crown was in 2010 or 11. Cost me $1500 out of pocket. I couldn't afford it now. i've needed at least 2 root canals.. well the teeth are rotted, and broken below the gumline. No root canal or crown will fix them now. Thank goodness they don't hurt, they're not infected and I keep them REALLY clean. I've had enough abscesses to know that pain. But I can't afford any dental work and taking one of them out would shift the wisdom tooth that is never coming in (my top left) and i'm 53 yrs old.. Those roots are well into my sinus cavity and I'm not destroying my nerves and sinuses for a tooth that doesn't hurt.
Ok well you get my point haha. However I still don't believe NYS is going to cover more dental work. My covid pneumona bill for 8 days was $100, 000 and NYS only paid $25, 000 of that bill. (I paid nothing) but you know NYS pays crap when it comes to their insurance.
