Eligibility expands for federal dental plan

Ottawa plans to expand eligibility for the federal dental program today to include children under the age of 18 and people who receive a disability tax credit. Up to 1.2 million more people will now be able to apply for the program.

Only people who could claim the disability tax credit can get the dental work, meaning if you have someone working full time in your household So people who are disabled can not get dental still.

I did look into it, yesterday. I am covered by Blue Cross, so, I don't qualify. Not everyone is as lucky as I am in having for Blue Cross Coverage. But, at least look into it for yourself, if you need. The worst you can be told is, "No", right?

My long time dentist isn't participating in the program.
So sad 😢. Will have to find a new dentist.

I find it insulting that the cieling is $90K. They could afford a Tesla payment with that income! Its all a ploy to cozy up to the Middle Cla$$!

I had ALL my new White Fillings disintegrate within 4 month's for a Christmas Present after a ToXic Fume Injury on August 13th 2003 and the Ontario Wsib refused to Pay 4 repairs! Why should this eXpen$e be Downloaded onto Canadian TaXpayer's?

I don't understand why I have to pay for other people's kids to have dental care, or elderly people who were brought here under the 'family reunification program' and have never contributed to our coffers! If you can't afford to get your kids' dental care, then don't have them. Simple as that.

The Dental Plan is all based on borrowed money. Our children and grandchildren will be paying interest on this money forever. How sad. What a legacy to leave future generations!!

how about the middle class that pays most of the tax in this country. if we dont make 30.000.00 dollars a year we can tafford dental never mind fruit and other groeries most government employees enjoy along with an actual pension that they can live one. seniors in this country get less than refugees from other countries a 65 year old senior will get approx 1600 to 1750 dollars a month . that just pays the rent for a single apratment never mind utilities and food and car insurance and all the rest we need to wake up canada the government is out of cdodntrol in this country . we the people want fair treatment for the people that worked 40 plus years hard labouer to pay the governments absurd wages and consteant waste of tax payers money

Dental care is the 1st line of digestive health and by extention general health well-being . Dental health courses should be taught and practiced in grade school instead of the "gender, social " nonsense currently preferred by the bureaucrates (feathering their own nests) in the provincial Gov't of BC .

GIVE IT TO EVERYONE SO WE DONT HAVE TO PAY PRIVATE COMPANIES.
WHY CAN'T THE GOVT PROVIDE IT TO US FOR A SMALL FEE, LIKE $10-20 ANNUALLY FOR EACH CANADIAN CITZEN AND PERMANENT RESIDENT
