Dear Oprah, please have Dr. Layne Norton, who has a PhD in Nutritional Science, on your show to explain the truth about how weight loss works in obese and non-obese people. He explains it better than most people that are speaking out of their expertise (such as a psychologist who does not have an understanding of the necessary knowledge in nutritional sciences). He also uses evidence-based scientific research to back up all his statements, provides links to the studies, and looks at human randomized control trials.

By the way, anyone who ate an apple pie at night would probably gain two pounds in the morning. I’m 128 lbs and an endurance athlete and that would also happen to me, probably gain more because food doesn’t just dissipate that fast in the human body and increased carb and salt intake from the pie along with fibre will make water retention, naturally. Understanding the science of how you process food would help you understand better. Talk to experts that work within the field that they are professionally educated and qualified to speak. Get Dr. Stuart Phillips and Dr. Brad Schoenfeld and Dr. Andrew Huberman on your show!

This clip is so incredibly misleading.

It’s not a disease, it’s an addiction. We are addicted to sugar thanks to all the toxic food we are sold. Other countries have laws against some of these toxins. We are the fattest people in the world.

Wish Eli Lilly would have addressed how hard it is to access my weekly type 2 diabetes shots on the Oprah special. I'm forced to go to 3-4 weeks between prescription refills due to the shortage. The pharmacy's can't get their hands on the drugs due to astronomical demand. It's only going to get worse now after the Oprah special.

I live in France for over a decade now. What I’ve thankfully learnt from the French is everything in moderation. They are not eating takeaway. They will enjoy now and then pizza and pasta but it’s not all the time. Breakfast consists of coffee and maybe one toast or brioche. Lunch is salad, meat or fish. The evening light, maybe a soup or sole artisan delicatessen. So people are not fat because they are reasonable. It requires discipline but becomes daily then it’s easy. Portions are also much smaller.

Where was the disease of obesity 50-2, 000 years ago? Everybody was thin but now it’s a disease! What changed? Sedentary lifestyle and dopamine addiction from food consumption is the root cause.

As James piers Morgan said it best “OPRAH GOT CAUGHT BEING FRAUDULENT AND SHOULD BE SUED BY WEIGHT WATCHERS.” Y’all should see the recent panel discussion they had on her yesterday! Splendid!

If obesity is a disease why is it only the last generation that this has effected so significantly?. In todays society we eat to much food compared to what we did in previous generations. Our society has changed so much from a movable society to a sedentary society and we are marketed about so many things especially food that influence our decisions. Shift the language, but not to obesity.

few years from now, headline, lawsuits due to death and lifetime stomach paralysis due to these drugs, they'll all be wishing they just stayed a bit fat or went on a diet with exercise

Obesity becomes a disease based on health issues. Not everyone whos overweight has a disease.
Insulin resistance, pcos, thyroid issues? Ozempic or weightloss meds will not cure anything. If oprah lost weight with meds, except the criticism, admit you took the drug-way and be done. Shes made her whole issue into a global "moral" issue and into a victim issue saying "enough with the shaming"... youve had weight issues. You not the only person on the planet... you took a weightloss drug... so what? Admit it... dont start up an entire weight-loss cult debunking centuries old facts about weight.
What about the fast foods? Xeno estrogens in foods? Grwoth hormones, pesticides, bleaches, chemicals and harmful gases in food all contributing to your brain not being able to cope with its own digestion
Yeah, the calories in calories out doesnt work for everyone, but a eating plan based of diet-specifics and genetics does work. So many people have allergies and deficiencies that lead to weight issues... but by telling people its a disease kinda drives the brain away from dealing with the issues you actually have. Why promote a drug?
Why not dedicate a show on learning to empower your mind and eat for your body type?

It's unfortunate that the psychologist in this segment denied calories in/out. It's outside her expertise and wrong. Even people on anti-obesity meds win by the meds helping them lower subconscious hunger nad therefore long term calories in. And some people, when they overeat, spontaneously and subconsciously burn it off, while others don't. An advantage for sure. Big differences between people and the effort or even medical assistance they have to use. Sure. But still abiding to calories in/out concept.

Everyone is deviating from the issue - who cares what she used. The Issue is she knows how difficult it is to loose weight and she wasn’t honest about adding the drug to help her until someone found out and exposed it.

It's "not about moving more and eating less." It's about living in denial I guess.

I take Ozempic for diabetes I lost 25 lbs but my stomach is still upset after eating. I have no appetite and eat very little. 😢 I don’t enjoy food anymore. It’s not worth my stomach being paralyzed for life.
