Thanks for watching everyone! I genuinely appreciate it.

Just for clarity, I am aware of the audio issue (the right ear problem), and it will be fixed in future videos.

I am also aware of the fact that "gong gong" is not a name; I should've checked that before completing the script. I apologize.

Again, thanks for watching, despite the flaws, you all rock!

The googly eyes (white circle with black center) are the direct inverse of the Donut (black circle with white center) - analogous to evelyn's absurdist response vs joy's nihilist response to everything everywhere all at once! What a masterpiece!

I can't believe I could say this...

But this was a movie that was just meant to be made.
Everyone needs this film in their lives.

I've seen films where characters are decapitated, dismembered, gutted, and tortured, and I handled them without blinking. And yet, in a film where some guy just gives himself a few paper cuts, I literally had to turn away in my seat. THAT is an achievement in sound design.

I cried so hard in the theater. Joy encapsulated everything I have gone through with my mom. A movie has never hit too close to home until this one.

I think about the googly eyes a lot. The thing that stuck with me is that Evelyn puts it on only after she got encouragement from all the waymonds in the universe. And not only is the eyes a direct opposition of the bagel, it is also Waymond's--his signature tools to help him be kind and loving, as has been reinforced by Evelyn in the movie's first part--signifying how his influences finally affected her and her worldview.

I think what really got me about Hsu's performance is that she got comparatively few scenes to actually be Joy, since so much of her time was taken up being Jobu, yet I feel like I have just as strong an understanding of her as I do Evelyn and Waymond. She communicated so much genuine teenage angst, confusion, uncertainty, frustration, and exasperation in just a few scenes that she felt like just as strong a character as any of the others while STILL being terrifying, weird, hilarious, and sympathetic as Jobu.

I don't understand how I still have friends that haven't heard of this movie and want to wait for streaming to see it! I can only say "Go see this in theaters!" so many times before they get tired of listening to me. So basically I feel sorry for people who don't get to experience this movie on the big screen. This was the greatest movie experience I've ever had.

Saw this movie twice in 2 days. Tried to go for 3 but didn't work out. It might be one of my favorite films to date if not ever. Certainly laughed and cried, but the main thing about this film that I connected with is the infinite potential we all have and our ability to decide how we want our lives to be. It's our choice. And yes, given the sheer muchness of everything, it can be easy to fall into nihilism like Joy, but things become magic when you choose to navigate it with compassion, love, happiness, etc. Either way, "nothing matters" is a true sentiment. Nothing matters in the grand scheme of things, but you can decide what matters to YOU. It's all subjective and it's all a game. Have fun. And in the words of Waynond, "Be kind..." Love you all.

I am a Marvel fan. I have seen all Marvel movies. But I also feel that it has taken over cinema. This movie has done what it takes to bring back balance to cinema. Making it joyful, quirky, fun to watch again. To be inspired and laugh and cry. I'm a cynic and this film washed away all that in one go.

I’m so glad someone pointed out the sounds. The idea of him having to give himself the paper-cuts was already cringy to think about, but that sound design make me squirm…
Also, the blood hitting the camera on the final swipe was weirdly cool and painful at the same time.

This movie resonate with me. In my 30's I had a safe secure job and if I had stay, I would have racked up 20 years of pensions and thinking about retirement by now. But something deep inside me said NO! The sleeper must awaken. So I didn' stay and began a 20 years adventure into the UNKNOWN. For 20 glorious years, I failed at something and succeeded at other thing. Now I have no pension, no security, working paycheck to paycheck. But u know what... I wouldn' have it any other way. I loved every single moments of those 20 years and every single moment now.

as a first generation Asian immigrant this film made me want to hug my mom. Our relationship was strained but we've made peace and have a great bond. It was an amazing family movie

Michelle Yeoh absolutely crushed her role, every emotion she displayed was so genuine and by the end of the movie had me in tears.

Just watched the movie and immediately went to YT to find a good analysis of it. I watched a bunch and this was by far the best one. I was shocked to find that your vid only had 300 views. Nice job!!

Such a remarkable film. Never laughed and cried before in the same film. And it holds up beautifully on rewatch--trust, I've seen it three times :)

I took my Mom to see this on Mother's Day, and she loved it. We held hands and cried at the end.

This might actually be my favorite movie of all time, and I've seen a lot of great films. This movie hit me on every level, and every aspect of the production was on point and added to the story telling. I feel that, as good as the sound, choreography, editing, cinematography, soundtrack, and direction were, the best part at the end of the day was the acting. Everyone brought something to this film and this cast was special. Michelle Yeoh proved beyond all doubt that she is a very versatile and gifted performer who can handle any role. Ke Huy Quan offered an excellent performance and in many ways was the emotional heart of the film. Stephanie Hsu knocked my socks off. They all had to act out multiple versions of the same character, an interesting challenge. This movie is helping me find gratitude day to day for the life I have, not the one I could have or wished I had. It came into my life right when I needed it and for that I am thankful. Great review btw, looking forward to seeing more of your channel.

"We hope many of you see yourselves in these characters.

We hope you laugh, cry,
and throw your hand ups and enjoy the ride in a theater full of strangers.

We hope it gives you the beginnings of a vocabulary for better understanding the too-much and how to exist in it.

But most of all, we hope after you watch it,
even if you agree we did not quite reach our goal of including everything,

that at least you feel included in this giant, messy, group hug of a film.

I had good expectations going in, came out with them completely shattered by this insane ride of a movie. This movie was brilliant in its execution of its crazy concept. Both visually and emotionally amazing. One of my top movies of all time! This movie deserves all the love and multiple watches!
