Yes, planes can go backwards using their reverse thrust that they use shortly after they land to slow the aircraft down

There was briefly a spate of these tugs that would take airplanes to just short of the departure end of the runway and release them to start their own engines and depart. This saved fuel and polluting emissions. Dont see them any longer.

Actually planes can reverse they are just not very efficient at it and the pilot obviously can't see behind (reverse thrust)
