This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new Lexus LX600 body-on-frame, large, luxury SUV. The LX has been totally redesigned from the ground up with new exterior and interior styling plus a new powertrain. This body-on-frame 3-row SUV has a 3.5L twin turbo V6 with a 10-speed automatic transmission, 409 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque with full time 4WD and active traction control. Gone is the V8 engine and the 8-speed automatic transmission, this twin-turbo V6 offers an extra 26 horsepower and 76 lb-ft of torque compared to the previous model. The weight of the Lexus LX600 has been reduced by over 440 pounds compared to the previous model and body rigidity has also increased. The new electronically controlled brake system and electric power steering gives the vehicle more control in off-road and on-road situations.
The LX has a front double wishbone suspension, rear coil springs, available front and rear air suspension and active height control for improved ride comfort. 22” forged aluminum wheels, the largest size in the Lexus line-up are available for the first time to improve off-road performance. Multi-terrain select with 6 drive modes and crawl mode features are also available including advanced technologies that support off-roading such as a multi-terrain monitor with LX’s first dual display to give drivers the confidence they need in harsher environments. The instrument panel features Lexus interface with a 12.3” touchscreen which shows navigation and audio controls, the lower 7” screen features climate controls and serves as a driving support screen for the multi-terrain select. The camera image gets displayed on the upper screen while showing the real-time vehicle status on the lower screen. This allows the driver to monitor off-road conditions without having to switch the displays. The LX 600 comes standard with a 12.3” touchscreen, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a wireless charger, heated leather steering wheel, power driver and passenger seats with memory, heated and ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, heated rear seats, a power rear door with kick sensor, 20” wheels and Lexus Safety System 2.5+ and blind spot monitoring. The LX 600 can tow 8,000 pounds and has a starting price of $106,950 CAD/$88,245 USD, Premium $96,345 USD, F Sport Series 1 $119,950 CAD/$102,345 USD, Luxury $127,200 CAD/$104,345 USD and our Executive test model is $151,200 CAD/$127,345 USD.

Thank you guys for the excellent review! I would add a few things to this since I am an LX570 owner and a big fan of Lexus/Toyota. As an american/Middle eastern guy, I know very well what this SUV carries underneath its skin. There is a famous saying that says it all " If you wanna go for a Safari, it is either the land cruiser or the land rover. But If you wanna come back, its' a just the land cruiser". I want to explain here that most of the other brands that have capable 4WD systems are not truly off roaders because they break very often on the first day of off-roading. The Lexus/Land cruiser cars are expensive because of the way they are overbuilt! For Example, the Sequoia is larger than the land cruiser but in the same time much cheaper, isn't that weird! But once you get to know the details of the huge difference in the build quality, you will understand the cost difference. This car is built like a tank! It defies Physics laws! That's why they sell like cupcakes in the middle east (for desert off-roading) while no body uses a range rover for the same purpose! (No body wants to die in the desert with dehydration!). On a different note, I love how they fixed almost all the problems of the old LX570, the excessive weight, the very heavy stearing, the bad MPG and efficiency, the loud and noisy Crawl control system, the outdated Infotainment system, the relatively disproportionate breaking power, and the annoying body roll. I still didn't like the 2-screen infotainment system and I prefer the land cruiser' one over this one. And above all, the new Tundra infotainment system, which is the best ever! Also the Ultra luxury model is very overpriced for the that Massage package esp. that it is only for the rear seats and so falls short to all the other brands. Great Job guys for nailing it! I totally agree that the best trim level is the F sport or the luxury trim ( in the U.S.) not the Ultra luxury one.

You guys are spot on about the customers who buy these, we don't CARE if it's not the best tech, screen setup, storage space etc. We know it's reliable, smooth, luxurious, off road capable and has that lexus badge to prove it. That's why people get em, and that's why they sell very well despite the ridiculous gripes.

I love the color of that interior. Definitely a notch about everything else.

I absolutely love these. Especially with that Caramel Sundae interior (with Nuts!). It is expensive though. But they do seem to last forever. I’m certain it is quite often cross shopped with the Range Rover. Thanks for another brilliantly thorough review.

You are absolutely right Zack.
People that actually take their 4WD off road don’t rely on fancy cameras to navigate the terrain but rather they rely on their skill. And that’s something you can not buy.

Always the best reviews! Have had several LX570s and this is an improvement for sure. Like the looks and reliability, but won’t trade current GLS due to infotainment

I just saw this riding around in buckhead. Its very stately, this and the GLS and X7 really do have that king of the road feeling.

I traded my LX570 in for the RX450 Hybrid for my wife. Now I drive an old GMC Sierra. I want this LX in F sport.
