I solved it before watching the video and got x = -1, but I did a different method than you.

I did:

5^x(5+1)=6/5
5^x(6)=6/5
5^x=1/5
ln(5^x) = ln(1/5)
xln(5) = ln(1) - ln(5)
xln(5) = -ln(5)
x = -1
