Love these in depth/detailed vids ryan..been watching ever since the 1st one 5-6 yrs ago...
Aren't you supposed to use the "seal packing" under the #1 cam caps tho...rather then on the outside of it..? I may be mistaken
Been scratching my head on whether to buy a Billet pully tensioner...I see you use a oem one...I'm only going for 600+ whp ish...do u think it's necessary?...and last...did u have any issues getting the fluidampner on the crank snout...mine seems really tight...?

Looks like you attached the same video from last video after you completed timing. “Shimless buckets started playing again”.@ 11:44 🤔

Looks like you have a VVTi 36/2 crank gear ? On a non-VVTi motor ?

Aren't Camshafts supposed to be torqued from center to the outside. Big profile Camshafts if torqued in the wrong sequence can break. I am not quite certain that you should start tightening them from the front to the back.

I have the same Cams in my build btw.

Can you use a GE crank in a GTE motor, my crank in the GTE was destroyed due to bearing knock?

Ask Subaru guys if that build guide works. Lol.

You left out rotating the camshaft by 1/3 and loosening & tightening selected cam caps and doing that THREE TIMES. To anyone watching this video in 2024 please watch another video that shows this part of the process or read the 2jz gte service manual.
