I read 55 books last year. Aiming at 80 books this year. Reading books on Spirituality, Buddhism, Stoicism, Poetry, Relationships, Mental Health, Happiness, Personal Finance and Nutrition. This year is all about personal development for me. Improving myself physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially.

This video is so timely. I just finished my first book of the year literally 5 mins ago!

I was a bit too ambitious in my habit development journey last year, so I decided to just focus on reading and exercise this year. I'm truly hoping for the best! :D

It's not about how many books you've read in one month or one year; it's about how much you've learned from them and applied to your life. 😊

Reading is so amazing! It's like sitting down with the author in your own living room and learning from their experience. My goal this year is to read even more books!! Thanks for the suggestions Matt! 🔥

I highly recommend "When Breath Becomes Air" by Paul Kalanithi, it is an autobiography that is beautifully written, touching and will stay with you for a long time.

There it is! I’ve been waiting for this video! Matt, you inspired me to read last year, and I crushed it by reading over 30 books! Thank you!

Homeownership is a crazy bullrun in Canada too. We've been super fortunate to own basically only because my family was able to support us (grandparents and parents). Great video Matt 👍🏻

Hi, Matt. I want to recommend "The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read and Your Children Will Be Glad That You Did" by Philippa Perry. The title as you can see is self-explanatory. :) On a surface, it's obvious that it is a book about parenting, but after reading it thoroughly, I can say it's more about understanding and accepting your inner child before/while deciding to be a parent to a child. It's a great book whether or not you plan to have a child in the future, as it talks abundantly on self acceptance.

I'm so stoked to watch this interview! Greg is one of my favorite people and I always love your conversations with him!

I'm thinking of writing a novella about minimalism, or rather about the opposite. I've spent years outlining and drafting a massive Star Wars fan-fiction series but I think it's time for me to stop shooting so high right out of the gate and just write something short. I don't think I'll try to get it published but I'll put it up on my website at least and maybe print a few copies for family/friends.

I'll still work on the series but if starting on YouTube has taught me anything it's to start slow and be willing to post crappy stuff -- to learn by doing and creating.

I really like this new position/place that you have chosen for your videos. Sitting down on the floor right in front of the camera really makes it feel like you have come and sit down with me like a friend.
Thank you for continuously making these amazing videos.

I read "where the crayfish sing"/"um lugar bem longe daqui" in Portuguese, and it was just AMAZING at the end! Even though I've been suspicious of the little clues about the fact throughout the story, the construction of it is just amazing, trying to make you believe in a perspective of the whole thing until the final chapter. My favorite fiction book of 2021 for sure

Thanks for this amazing information !! If you don't find a means of multiplying money, you will wake up one day to realize that the money you thought you had, has finished. Investment is key, I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life

Hey Matt,
I wanted to realy thank you for your video 1 year ago about reading. It was one of the main motivations for me to get more into the habit of reading and now, 1 year later, i have finished 20 books. While I also initialy aimed for 24 books, its still insane for me looking back and realising how much i read and how well I was able to maintain that habit. It is definitly hard sometimes and it realy can feel like a chore (especialy non fiction) but the rewards, insights and joys you get out of reading are definitly worth it. 10/10 can recommend
Sooo... thank you.

I kind of blame the school system for running my love of reading because before, I had book reports, I read anything, I could get my hands on but when, I felt forced to read for marks it became a "chore." I think, children should be encouraged to read but no book reports until grade 5 or 6 at least not grade 3 because than they associate reading with work!

Not reading a book because you do not align with all ideals of its writer would limit your perspective to the opinion of those in your own reference group. Everyone has something to teach us, it is our choice whether we are ready to learn.

My recommendation to you would be “We Begin At The End” by Chris Whitaker. Great book of fiction.
I’ve upped my reading game this year, and have been surpassing my monthly goal. The more I read, the more I want to read. It’s strange how it engages yet relaxes your brain. I love the mental escape into someone else’s life and perspective.📚

It’s funny/sad that I despised book reports/reviews in school, because now I love telling people about the books I enjoyed reading and look to suggestions from others. Great video!
