That rocking piece from the desk set is an ink blotter. It was rolled over written pieces to blot excess ink. It's use was pretty much discontinued with the invention of the ball point pen. So many amazing finds! I always loved going through antique shops and malls, even as a kid, just to admire things from the past. If they are beautifully curated all the better! I love a mix of both your thrifting videos as well as these antiquing ones.

Yes, definitely interested in more episodes like this one. Also, stripping the candlesticks sounds like great first option. If you find they are just beyond repair, then you could try painting. Can't hurt to try to restore them, since you would have a good backup plan.

I haven't watched this video yet. My mother and I love your vids, we watch them together. Often when we're thrifting we go 'Laura would like that.' 'Laura would buy that.'. Yesterday we went thrifting and got a really good haul. We came home to a family tragedy and our world was turned upside down. We're grieving and hurting but being able to watch your vid yesterday was 31 minutes and 9 seconds of normalcy and calm in a horrible day. I'm so so grateful you've posted again today so I can go and put this vid up on her tv and have another little slice of escape today. Thank you.

I wish all the antique malls did the displaying the way this owner does instead of each vendor having their own little booth. I’m sure their sales would double. The buyers would appreciate how every piece can be display in our own homes and how everything comes together. GREAT IDEA! . Thank you for sharing this video. As always… I love it! 😊

The way things were displayed in the first shop makes so much sense. My sister is a vendor in a similar type of shop in N.C.where a lot of the vendors intermix their merchandise because it better compliments it.I see why you liked it so much! Almost looks like you stylized it! ❤
