Hey all, here's a long storytime about the worst 3 weeks so far... My phone was stolen, along with $6000 and identity theft and hacking.

Horrifying, absolutely horrifying. I truly wish you the best. For this to fall now when your mom is battling cancer, is such terrible timing. Lindie, I'm so sorry that this is happening. I'm only a few minutes in and I'm aghast at the hostile, malicious aspects of your story. Take good care of yourself.

It's disgusting how these people have zero empathy for anyone else but themselves. (If you've seen any videos on programmers pranking scammers, you'll see how vicious they can get even when they think they're talking to innocent old people!) I'm so sorry all of this happened to you. I'm glad you were able to recover most things. What a string of horrible luck. I hope the rest of this year goes better for you!

I'm very sorry that you had to go through all of this. I can't even imagine how hard it was. But at the same time I want to thank you so much for sharing this traumatic event and raising the awareness. This could happen to anyone of us.

I work in customer service at a bank. If you think that the people who did this to Lindie are bad, imagine people doing something similar to little old ladies in their 90s. These people have no conscience whatsoever.

This is so scary, sometimes it's easy to forget it can happen until it actually happens to us. I'm going to protect my accounts better now just in case... Much love to you and your family!

For those saying there's no sound, maybe refresh the page, or if you're on the app, reload it or clear the cache from the app settings on your phone. Or maybe play around with your sound settings in the video or on your device. I'm using desktop and the audio is working like it should.

Lindie, I remember seeing this all unfold on Instagram, and what a scary time that was! I'm glad you were able to get your account back!

I'm so sorry you had to learn in one of the hardest ways the value of a password manager. Saving tons of personal info to one account that's typically always logged in seems convenient but the power it can give malicious people is so scary. I hope your luck can turn around through the end of this year. Thank you for all the great stuff you put into the world, it's so often the kindest people that have terrible things happen to them.

I'm tremendously sorry to hear this. I absolutely don't have any words to describe this situation other than unbelievably terrifying. I want you to know, that we'll be supporting you no matter what. And those freaks will get the punishment that they don't even expect.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. I was always afraid of that happening to me. I had an idea how to prevent stuff like that happening, but I never actually got to use it, so if anybody does something similar, I'd love to hear about it. I mean, having two phones, one with all the precious information, logged in everything, and all the backups, the other one is just for daily use that is logged in apps you need for the day

I had to watch this in 3 parts because I just couldn’t take it all in at once 😢. I’m happy to hear you are at least getting some control back (thank God for the backup codes!)

Also guys, to add to the password manager tip, if you ever lose your phone, get on a computer and do a remote wipe ASAP! This should work for both iOS and Android devices. Stay safe everyone 🙏

Unbelievable! I’m glad you were able to recover at least something back Lindie. Fraud and scamming is on the rise! This should be a wake up call to people that most of us aren’t protecting our personal info enough. Thanks for posting!

It’s incredibly sobering to come to the realization that no one’s coming to save you when things like this happen. You’re strong and bounced back to think on what to do and be your own advocate for your own victimhood. The pizza delivery cover was clever. I’m so sorry these wastes and stains on the gene pool did this to you, of all people, who is so kind and graces the people around you with value to their lives. You work too hard for this BS. Sorry this is another stress stacked on top of your family life when all you should have to worry about is spending time with your loved ones.

It was also sliver lined with all of the support and love this community has shown you. I hope your Singapore bank gets it together and you can finally move on 🙏🏼

There is no reason why they would go so personal with this, their whole attitude including email deletions, fan replies and other stuff, other than pure jealously. 100℅ they saw your life when they checked your stuff and felt very jealous of it. Just evil malicious people. But don't mind these things Lindie. What really matters in life, those greasy souls don't have.
