What is secularism? - Dr Michael Bird

Secularism is a legal framework but in contrast, secularisation is something quite different. This is about eradicating religious voices and restricting the places where religion is able to influence and speak into. We must not mistake these two terms! Secularism protects and creates space for religious freedom, religious voices and religious practice.

I think it is laicism, not secularism.
