Instant Reaction To Agatha All Along Episode 8 & 9 - SPOILER REVIEW Time For one of the best finales out of the MCU and especially Marvel TV! We get the comic accurate costume of Wiccan & Agatha, as well as some signficant Death scenes. If you’ve been watching these reviews you know with episode 7 not was I in for the ep. I was in for the SHOW! So naturally I was worried about it sticking the landing with the finale, after other Marvel (for me) historically has incredible penultimate eps but often (for me) falls short on the finale. Not here! The messages about what we give power to. About how messages and concepts can imbue power. About death. About loss. About trust and betrayal. About multitudes of the human condition. And all of this, being Agatha All Along.

Didn’t have time to edit with all the other videos I’ve been doing but wanted to get my thoughts out there for the newest MCU show as so many folks wanted my take. As a die hard Comic Book fan I’m so happy to see a deep cut like Agatha Harkness get her time to shine (especially after the glory that was WandaVision) but how does her own show hold up? Did YOU love the finale (and episode 8) as much as I did!

Agatha All Along is an American television miniseries created by Jac Schaeffer for the streaming service Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics character Agatha Harkness. A spin-off from the series WandaVision (2021), it is the 11th television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) produced by Marvel Studios, via its Marvel Television label, sharing continuity with the films of the franchise. Schaeffer serves as showrunner and lead director.

Kathryn Hahn reprises her role as Agatha Harkness from WandaVision, with Joe Locke, Debra Jo Rupp, Aubrey Plaza, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Okwui Okpokwasili, Patti LuPone, Maria Dizzia, Paul Adelstein, and Miles Gutierrez-Riley also starring. Development began by October 2021, with Schaeffer and Hahn attached, and the series was formally announced the next month. Schaeffer, Rachel Goldberg, and Gandja Monteiro were set as directors in early 2023 ahead of filming, which took place from January to May 2023 at Trilith Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, and in Los Angeles. Cast and crew returned from WandaVision, including the series' musical team. Several different titles were announced for the series as part of a marketing campaign before the official title of Agatha All Along—referencing the song of the same name from WandaVision—was announced in May 2024.

Agatha All Along premiered on Disney+ on September 18, 2024, with its first two episodes. The next five episodes are being released weekly until October 23, and the final two episodes are set to be released on October 30. The series is part of Phase Five of the MCU.

So many studios and channels and conventions and people have made a name for themselves off of adapting comics, and I love that. But I also love these weekly adventures in a medium I adore. So its time to celebrate them.

Agatha insisting on the lyric “coven TWO” instead of “coven true” makes so much more sense now

Seeing a 180 from your initial “this isn’t for me, I’m not the target audience but I can still appreciate it” to this upload is the kind of media literacy and commentary I wish more reactors would output.

Also, how fitting that the last episode was very true to its title! It showed Agatha in her three phases: Maiden (a young witch, pregnant, had her past with Rio etc), Mother (being a mom to Nicky during his childhood) and Crone (as a ghost in her old lady form) ♡

The EP 9 revelation of the song makes the episode of Alice so much more powerful because the Ballad is actually a song created by a mother and her son, and it was their thing, so Lorna takes that song to make a protection spell for her own child. Child that she was desperate to protect, the parallels with Lorna and Agatha, my god...

Also really liked Death tearing the literal fabric of reality to leave the road.

So weird to see a Marvel show ramp up instead of down in quality. It really did get better towards the end.

i think even though most of the reveals were predictable, the way they revealed them was very satifying and fun to watch

episode 9 felt like an epilogue and it was beautiful

If you pay attention to the music that Agatha and Nicky sing together in episode nine… it starts out very sweet and major sounding… But by the end, it has turned into the minor song with the dark tonality that Agatha now remembers her dead son by.

I’m kind of surprised a lot of people are not liking this ending. I liked the show from beginning to end but the last 3 episodes hit even harder for me.

- I loved that they committed to our characters actually dying. Alice’s scene realizing that she was dying was hard hitting, and Rio’s response was honest but cold 💀.

- Loved them committing to Agatha being a villain, even down to the last minute. Makes her so different from several MCU characters and it’s nice she gets to occupy a space where she can allow Billy to explore the dark side that his mother also has.

- The flashbacks with Agatha were heartbreaking, but loved that they humanized her without making her a good person. She made her son an accomplice to murder 😂. And love the Witches Road being a lie she made up, even more so loved the fact that she and Nick made up the ballad together.

- Loved Billy’s costume and power reveal! And the reality warping twist was FANTASTIC! Like mother, like son. I think this coupled with Billy being somewhat implicated in the deaths of his coven members due to his lack of knowledge/control of his powers will be the bridge to help him one day connect to Wanda. He can now fully relate to lack of magical control and the collateral damage it can cause.

- Love ghost mentor Agatha! What a great way to keep Kathryn Hahn here while paying homage to the comics!

- Final tidbits: Loved Rio here, can’t wait for her to pop back up. Really hope Jennifer Kale comes back! Ending “let’s go find Tommy” was sick!

Sorry this was long and rambling 😂🤘🏼

So thrilled to hear the show won you over. As a Wiccan fan for over a decade i could not be more thrilled to actually have him in the MCU and have Agatha as his mentor. I need the followup series announced asap.

It didn’t end the way I expected, and that was a really really good and positive thing. What an amazing show, it started strong and somehow managed to get better and better with each subsequent episode. I fully expect for it to be nominated for multiple Emmys like WandaVision was. It’s one of the best things Marvel has done.

Wiccan's suit looked so damn good. Maybe the best suit in the MCU.

Such a fun show, man. All characters and stories are so intriguing and interesting. Billy's got one of the most complex and interesting origin stories and I feel like the show and Joe managed to bring it all to life really well. Agatha in ep 9 broke my heart. Such a mix of emotions there. A villain through and through, but still good (in her own way)

Coy, this is the first time I'm watching your videos and the way you didn't censor your thoughts but still were respectful to people who liked it, and when you changed your mind you were clear about the reasons, they all make me trust your reviews more. I loved this show, I'm quite literally the demographic for thus show (😂) but never once was i made to feel like I'm dumb for liking it even when you didnt like it.
I guess my point is, I'm gonna look you up if i have any doubts about the movies/series i want to watch coz i know you're gonna be fair, now! :)
