Adjusting your HRT dose in perimenopause

This confuses me. I thought it was the FIRST half of the cycle when estrogen is rising, so we don’t want so much estrogen in the 2nd half leading up to gettin a period? I thought it was progesterone that should be increasing leading up to the period?

I don't have this a week before. I have this all the time. I feel like I have PMS for most of the month. I'm on continuous HRT, I'm perimenopausal but taking it only part of the month was not working for me mood wise. My nurse told me take it continuous. I have cramps for about 3 weeks of the month, I'm irritable all the time, tired and lethargic. I was on 0.5, she's now told me to go up to 1. I hope it helps becauae I've been suffering for 5 years now with all this. When does it end?

Not that, what I get is SEVERE PMDD...! I went to my doctor about 2 weeks ago and she told me DO NOT increase your Estradiol dosage, because Estradiol is what gives you PMS, but I wasn't sleeping very well so she increased the Progesterone to 200mg, but kept the Estradiol in 0.05mg because I started getting my periods every month and she said that's not normal, even though I have never reached menopause. THIS CRAMPS ARE SO PAINFUL!!! 😩😩😩😩 What should I do???

Can raising progesterone dosage cause bleeding? I cycle 200 mg of progesterone and went up to 300 on days 18-20, and my period started on the evening of day 20. I’m continuing with my course of progesterone, but back down to 200 mg, for the full 14 days, but I’m a little worried that my period came early. Is it because I upped my progesterone mid luteal phase?

After a few months on the 0.5 patch and doing well Im experiencing extrene breast burning pain sensation. Removed my patch but pain persists. What shall I do?

What if 15 yrs post menopause and 4 wks after starting .0375 est patch and 100 mg micro prog extreme breast tenderness developed?
Is there a dose to adjust here or does one just quit??

I value everything you share so much Dr. Heather! May I ask - what are signs we can consider and evaluate that indicate 200 mg of Prometrium is too much? I feel like am simply taking 200mg by default. I have increased rage-like pms now. I feel great otherwise.

I used activella .5 routinely and up it to 1 when it gets worse 2nd half of cycle. Thank u doctor for all your knowledge ❤

My period won't stop. It's really annoying. It's been going on for a few months straight. I'm on an estradiol patch.

Hmm. Q:
I thought 100mg promethium isn’t enough for 14 days if taking estradiol, that 200mg promethium for 14 days is needed when taking estradiol or 100mg Prometrium every single day.

Wouldn’t this delay your period? Or make it come too early? I started HRT and my cycle went from 24 days to 32 days.

I’m on Premarin 0.5 for vaginal dryness should I double the use before my period? My doctor has also just introduced 100mg of progesterone -Prometrium. I’m really hoping it helps me sleep through the night and hoping it also helps with my mood and hopefully I can lose some weight too. I feel like I gained 15 -20 lbs over the pandemic and I am having a hard time losing it. I lost 10 lbs but I’d like to lose more.

i am on biest 21 days and promethium 100 all month. my period is overdue and i struggle A lOT. i don’t want to keep waiting and start the biest up again??
