Should have just updated the 4k version, made the old one cheaper, and added more internal ram and storage to a new version of the 4k Chromecast with Google TV.

Why does chromecadt HD revert back to 720p even after I set it to 1080p. When I restart the tx.. it goes to 720p.

In the context of the US market, this is a strange device since its price isn't really that far from the regular 4K model which is already very affordable and even more so via the secondhand market. Some people are going to accidentally get this over said regular 4K model.

What we did need is a new high tier model that has 6 - 8GBs of RAM, way more internal storage, a better processor, WiFi6E, and at least two fully functioning USB-C ports (data, power, and video). But as always, Google's hardware team aimed low, and left an opportunity for Apple to swoop in, satisfy, and leave the Google product to be perceived as the cheap garbage option. Ugh. So frustrating.

Just a complaint. Putting volume buttons on the side of the remote is a bad design idea. Whoever suggested or designed this idea should be exiled to Siberia.
