I was expecting to see if that NY Guy walk up and say Hey Ivan, gotcha a Chevvvrroolet huh!?
I own a 2007 Equinox V6. ( Among my 4 Nissan's. ) I had the Equinox plagued overheating last Fall.
A sweet smell of A/Freeze inside the cabin.A quick Google search reveals this as a common issue.
I bypassed the Heater Core, and it has ran and cooled all summer here in Indiana flawlessly.
It is AWD, so with Indiana Snow coming, I am walking out this afternoon to replace the Heater Core.
This must be among the Top Most Ridiculous designs- to access the core. I am doing the 2.5 hr
cut the metal tubes under the dash repair- to remove this animal! ( 12-13 HR. to replace it without
cutting the metal tubes ). Looking forward to Part 2 of this case study. PHAD Rocks !

While doing some electrical work and hoping for a quick departure, one experienced and wiser soul remarked "There's no such thing as a 5 minute job. Ever since have been trying to prove him wrong but no joy, unfortunately. That's many, many moons ago. As soon as you mentioned "Staten Island " I knew there was a storm a brewin. Cars left idle for extended periods have strange tales to tell. Tis a brave soul, like yourself that has the courage to slay the dragon. Lookin forward to more front line action on the Chevvy saga and hope that some claymore mine doesn't explode unexpectedly, on your diagnosis trail.

Looks like an auction car, who knows what people did before. Intermittent problems, the worst, gotta get lucky AND smart. Thanks for bringing us along!

Been following your videos the last few weeks and finally understand how to follow through the canbus system on my '13 Chevy Cruze. Was able to find the broken highspeed line going to the power steering. Great videos very helpful! Thank you!

And precisely this is why Eric O. recommends to do a visual and check as many non-intrusive things as possible before touching anything. The first open, then suddenly good CAN wire should've been a red herring, as should the twitching gauges. The fault was clearly present while the EBCM was bridged. At that point, get out the scope and check that wire while wiggling it and the connectors. Check pin fitment, etc. But you'll figure it out as usual.

I like the "Parts cannon has been fired" phrase. We use "Shotgunning" similarly, just throwing parts at the problem to try and fix it.

Thank you for the video and the 2nd part! on my case it was the electronic power steering module . i just jump cans and was able to get my 120 from ecu, plug back the middle connector and finally i got my 60 and the car start right up, now time for new steering rack

Mr Dillion taught me to look at the centre of any given unknown loom and go for a connector / unit there. Reason being you split your possibilities in half in one go.

My next step would be to tell these guys to stop buying car at the auto auctions. They end up at the auction most times for a reason.

Now what could keith say hmm.. Check the communication paths for low resistance and double check the termination resistance values while flexing the connectors.
I would run away of cause lol.
