y'know, I feel like they really missed a trick not sticking with Victorain!Clara. I mean, yeah I get that they needed to set up the whole "different claras throughout time to save the Doctor" and everything, but still... It would've been great to finally see a companion front a different time again.

I love the design of this TARDIS because it’s such a clear sign of the Doctor’s grief — it’s more stark and steely and engraved with Old High Gallifrean — like in the wake of losing Amy and Rory he refashions the TARDIS to remind him that he is not like us. He’s not human and has no business inflicting his dangerous life on us. It feels like a nice precursor to his eventual regeneration into the Twelfth Doctor, who as Vastra describes, is the “Old Man Revealed” — the veil lifted. Because this is very much Twelve’s TARDIS and its design feels like The Doctor’s way of saying that something inside him died with Amy and Rory when he lost them.

I really liked the bit that came right after this clip ended, where Clara revealed that she noticed that because of his height, he wouldn't need the umbrella to reach the ladder, which meant he purposefully grabbed it for her. It proved that he knew she would follow him up to that roof and he wanted her to.

I love this scene, and I missed the chemistry between 11th and Clara.
