Fun fact, that first clip isn't actually Edward VII getting crowned. That coronation wasn't allowed to be filmed, the clip is from a French movie mock-up of the coronation, and the king is being played by a janitor of roughly the same size.

Ironically, the movie coronation went a lot smoother than the actual one did.

She was blessed from birth with the mind and spirit to rule wisely and just sacrificing a normal life and stepping up after her uncle abdicated and her father's untimely passing.that is why she was loved not just in the u.k. but all over the world.

my dad’s cousin gave king edward viii his driver’s test & license in florida when he moved to the US. we got the real signed photo when he died—not sure how to feel about that considering his ties to a certain german painter

The ceremony of the recent King crowning was so fascinating linking the past and the present. The most touching moment for me was when William on bender knew before the new King swore his loyalty to him.
