The two causes are:
1. The camera consists of a limited number of filters consisting primarily of animals which could lose the engagement of users.

Question 2a:
The author primarily uses the #StatusOfMind survey which is from a reliable organisation (ie. The United Kingdom’s Royal Society for Public Health) which makes the information provided trustable. This allows the source to gain a sense of credibility. The evidence is also presented in a formal and persuasive manner. Furthermore, the statistics quoted such as the amount of people who took the survey and their age groups are provided, which gives a better sense of understanding. However, the author could have elaborated more on the previous studies that they mentioned along with the authors of those evidences and their level of expertise. This would have made the argument more stronger and believable. Additionally, the author could have linked their personal perspectives along with local, national and global perspectives to the data provided in the evidence that they took. Consequently, the argument would have been more convincing. The benefits are not mentioned at all, making the author seem biased.

Question 2a:
Alter uses a recent survey about Instagram and its damages to prove their point about how bad it is. Do this by linking the effects of Instagram to very negative and unappealing problems such as anxiety depression and bullying.
The author also increases the credibility of their sources by stating their names and mentioning specific details about the survey the author shows that the sources used are from a range of people (different ages and backgrounds), this indicates that the issue is a global one and not just an opinion.
Talks about more studies that support his claim. The author further links the issues of Instagram to deeper and more harmful aspects such as psychological distress. The author also integrates a quote to show the general opinion and a more personal perspective to the argument.
