I feel bad for Natasha, you can see it in her eyes that she wants a child, but because of the way she was trained and brought up, she couldn’t, since it’s a burden

Both characters went through so much and were robbed of the happy ending they deserved :(

I wish they continued to develop Nat and Bruce’s relationship in the Avengers movies like they did with Cap and Peggy and Tony and Pepper. Natalie was the first to accept Bruce for both sides of him and she was the first to calm the Hulk down. Bruce also accepted her for who she was too. I really didn’t like how they had dropped their relationship so Steve can mess with Nat and Sharon before doing the obvious and getting back with Peggy. 🙄

I feel like it’s easy to take Natasha’s monster comment at face value, but theres so much more to it. She regards her inability to have a child as her own fault, a choice that she made, and has never been able to see herself as something other than the “monster” they made her. She references in this scene how being an Avenger has felt like a dream, and that when she wakes she’s still the assassin she was raised as. Even in other parts of the movie, such as when they’re all trying to lift Mjolnir, Nat flat out refuses, saying “that’s not a question I want answered.” That’s why Bruce and her have that connection. Bruce, like Nat, is unable to look past / see anything other than the “monster.”

Anyone else here after watching Black Widow when Yelena explained the "specifics" of the Red Room's sterilization process?

I really love what Mark and Scarlett did here. If you didn’t know this was a Marvel movie, you might think it was just two people trying to work out what they were.

they are both way too matured to express their feelings.

You can see the pain in her eyes. Even as she's explaining it to Bruce you can see that she's still trying to accept it herself. Even the subtle body language after she says "they sterilize you" just conveys regret.

She said she can't have kids but she actually pregnant in this movie.😊

The difference between Betty and Natasha is that Betty only loved Bruce. Even when he was Hulk, she referred to him as Bruce, ignoring the fact that they’re two separate beings. She also tried to help Bruce get rid of the Hulk. On the other hand, Natasha loved both Bruce and the Hulk. She acknowledged them as separate individuals, calling Hulk “big guy, ” and never wanted Bruce to change. She accepted the Bruce/Hulk system exactly as they were. To me that makes her a better match for him than Betty.

There was some controversy about Natasha's "monster" comment here, and here's my two cents. I don't think the intention of the scene is "Nat can't have kids=Nat is a monster", but the way it's written, with her insinuating she's a monster RIGHT AFTER she explains she can't have kids, makes it seem that way. There should've been more a separation in the dialogue between these two different points, to make it clear that Natasha feels like a monster because of her sins, not because of her infertility.

She just wanted to have someone to comfort her and be there for her and he just wanted someone to run away with, they both wanted to grow old together but the writers said no and I will never forgive them😭
