I'm excited to see the upcoming filing techniques. The Manly manners is always much appreciated, after my 18 years of marriage I can always use a quality reminder!!

I'm not much of a youtube-comment guy but I really loved your video! Most of the videos in youtube use expensive tools to do anything and as an amateur new carpinteur and as a young guy I don't have them neither have the money to buy them. Your video shows everything using only hand tools! For me thats is the example of a good toturial, doing more with less. Doing something with good modern expensive tools is not much of a trick, the trick is doing something amazing with tools that anyone could get or have! The manly manners in the end was just amazing!

I enjoy the old tools and tool maintenance. It reminds me of my grandfather on the old family farm.Thankfully, I inherited some of his tools and his fathers tools also.Good variety and style of videos. This is my favorite channel. Thanks for the Manly Manner reminders.

I've bought my wife gadgets, jewelry, clothes, but while she was visiting family in Florida in February I built a kitchen table as a surprise return gift an I think she appreciated it more than any gadget or pair of earrings. I'm not the best carpenter but she said it was wonderful. That was worth all the time and splinters.

I just got an amazing deal on a 1986 Henry Disston hand saw, $7 and I just need to sharpen the saw, I have all the tools I just need to learn so thank you. I love seeing the look on peoples faces when a 16 year old comes up to a garage sale and avoids the video games and goes right to the tools. I love wood working and thank you for the impact you have had on my life, Love the vids as always thank you.

Hi Cody, Just a few things that I saw or know about.1. Most saws that you can buy nowadays have hardened teeth so they are disposable soon as they get blunt ( not good for the environment but good for the manufacturer )2. when using a egg beater drill you do not reverse the travel to bring the bit out as this will often undo the chuck and can also break the drill bit3. the height you should sharpen a saw at is to have the saw about the same height as your elbow.I hope this helps and gives you some tips, it is great to see you striving to stop the wasteful  modern day through away world.great video

You can also simply take 2 scrap pieces of wood then sandwich your saw blade between them and clamp using whatever vise you have. Done.

Prussian Blue is slightly different than blue dykem. It doesn't dry, and it's used to show high/low spots when scraping or lapping steel, or in other applications where you're fitting precision parts together and need to see where any interference is. Normally it's applied to a granite surface plate or some other reference surface, and then the part you want to check for flatness is laid on top of it and moved back and forth so that the PB transfers to the high spots. That, or you fit the parts together after coating with PB, and it's then used to show interference points.

Both are used in a shop, just in different applications.

That was a very nice little piece of advice you gave, refreshing to hear a man think and be sensitive. I have been married 25 years and this is something i have forgotten to do. Thanks for reminding me, God bless you sir

Great Manly Manners tip. I had forgotten about the notes. My wife would leave me notes in my lunch
box. They were more cherished than the lunch

I like the manly manners you had read. I agree with you on it. I made my girlfriend a wine rack out of an old pallet. We have it hanging in our kitchen and she absolutely love's it. It is a forever gift she will keep.

There's something comforting about seeing things done the good old-fashioned way. There's definitely some good still left in this world.

Cody you truly are an inspiration. Love the videos and your attitude towards life, love and family. You're a great man. I ended up buying both Dont's for Husbands and Dont's for Wives for my wife and I. It's good to be reminded once in a while. I have since bought them for 2 wedding gifts for friends. Keep up the great work :)

I love that vice. I use a red and black sharpie to mark the cutting surface of the teeth so I can keep track of which side i need to sharpen. I also use a stitching pony to hold my saw. A full size saw takes forever and a day to sharpen.

Wranglerstar, you manly manners bit was very unexpected to see in a how-to video. However, it was a brightening to my day. Thanks for putting good words out into the world. Sincerely, a new subscriber.
