Female wards off unwanted attention from bull elephant

I wonder how old this Bull is, as he looked slightly smaller in size to the female? Maybe this young Bull was not in Musth and was just getting friendly with the female. She was defiantly not interested! Do elephants mate throughout the year, or as the rains have now come, do they time their mating with the seasons when more larger groups of females get together with the Bulls? It is all very interesting watching elephant social behavior. Thanks to everyone at Save The Elephants for all the important work you do, protecting these magnificent animals.
