Ngl. I'm 28 and single (female), but when I have an issue with my car, I call my dad. My car overheated a few months ago, and he was my first call. Later that day, his wife (he remarried after my mom passed) texted and thanked me for calling him. She said he loves being able to help his daughters.❤

My wife never filled her car up with gas, got her oil changed, replaced a GFCI in the bathroom, cut the grass, took the trash out, killed the spider, unclogged the toilet, checked the mail, cleaned out the gutters, fixed her computer, hung a picture or TV, installed a ceiling fan, painted the kitchen, bedroom or bathroom or repaired the garage door opener. But she always knew how to thank me for all of it. Cheers.

My wife works a full time job as I do. We both clean the house. But she is the primary caretaker to our child. I fix things around the house. Repair the vehicle, take the trash out, mow the lawn etc. She does the dishes, laundry, cook's dinner.
And it was never discussed, we just fell into our natural roles. We help each other when we can.

My grandfather was a mechanic. He showed how to change my own brakes, change my own oil, rotate a tire etc. I know how to do them, but it’s what he told me after that changed my life. “ I’m showing you how to do this so that way you can find a man who can do it for you. If he can’t maintain a car, he can’t maintain a home, he can’t maintain a family, and he can’t maintain a marriage “. My husband got to meet him before he died, and my grandfather told me, ” This is the one, you need to marry this one” We’ve been together 8 years, married for 3 years and have a beautiful 2 year old son. My husband is a man in every way. I cook for him every day with a smile on my face knowing my grandfather is proud of us ☺️

My wife used to talk like this. We traded chores for 1 week. I had the easiest week of my life, but she couldn't finish my chores. The next week, we traded back, and she has shown me appreciation for what I do ever since. Now we appreciate each other.

I am a married woman of 27 years. I have taken out trash, mowed the lawn, painted, washed windows, hung the blinds and pictures, washed the car, got my own gas, tires, oil changes, etc. I have not done any of those things on a consistent basis, but I've done those things alongside my husband. He has also cooked, cleaned, washed clothes, did midnight feedings, watched our child if I worked late, etc. It takes a partnership. It's not a his thing, my thing, but an our thing. If you all understand that, marriages will last longer.
