Love the new paint on the brake caliper pistons 😉 the caliper seals may not like it tho😅

Please, please, please do a bit of research to find out how extremely critical it is
for those front brake pistons to be spotless in order for them to function safely.
The paint "overspray" that is on them could very possibly cause them to not work
properly or completely seize up. Please take this as constructive criticism. I am
not beating you, I am only concerned for your safety when you ride that beautiful
bike. Really appreciate you sharing this rebuild with us.

@CJ Media You'll need to replace the brake piston and seals due to the overspray.

Don't sand the piston down due to the mm precision of the seal.

You can always push the piston back then maskintape over them for the next time.

sick calipers dude, might as well spray paint into the brake lines since you ruined your caliper piston seals... thing changes after the canyon dive, please stay off ben's stash to keep your head clear, may you recovery well.

You need to use vinyl fine line tape to mask to calipers. Fine line tape let’s you mask around different shapes and angles. Once you apply the fine line where you want then use 3/4 inch tape to finish masking. Ensure you use denatured alcohol to clean the surface anything stronger will cause solvent pop or lifting of the paint. Most of those paints have a TDS and will tell the proper flash times between coats.

Dude, please don’t take this the wrong way but if I were you I’d be enrolling in some superbike riding school, there are plenty over here in uk so I assume the states should have plenty too!
It would help you out massively, plus it would make a decent video, give you some much needed fast riding coaching and be a good day out for you and a few friends.

if you paint these calipers the cheap way, do it with very light coats of color, this way you have to put on a lot more coats, but this way the paint wont start to run meaning it wont go under the tape so the edges look a lot better

Also, oven cleaner will remove that spray paint if you decide to repaint the calipers.
You could paint the brembo name in the red white green.

Nice idea on the calipers. You just have to put more attention and take your time on the masking and painting, and paint the brembo logo black
