Love the review bro! I’m wanting some analog warmth and crunch AFTER “mastering” inside Studio One. I’m thinking I may use this. I bought a Golden Age Pre 73 for vocals too but for the actual track I was thinking something like this.

I have it now for 2, 5 years and I'm still loving it. I started to using more features and settings overtime. Also after a year of owning it I figured out you also can use it as an audio interface 😅 so every now and then with a mobile setup I use it also as my audio interface.

thanks much for this really solid breakdown of your use case for this box.

I own the mklI and it’s a must have if you use hardware gear. I can pick up a MKI for 360€ and I actually think to get a second unit

I definitely want to pick up the Analog Heat + FX. The price is steep, but I like that you can order the FX however you want to. It reminds of my Zoom MS-50G in that way. It looks like the ultimate end of signal chain mastering box

07:41 that's what it's about! I think I'd use it the same way you do. I just use my 404mk2. Not ready to invest. I'm on a synth kick.

Great overview, super helpful...just selling my AH+FX to get the Mk2 instead, and for much the same reasons you gave but focused on the effects. Where'd you get your metal knobbie from on the Master Volume? Like the look of that!

Picked up a used one for a nice price a month ago….warm saturator and messing with the dry/wet to get that “pseudo” sidechain comp is nice on my mpc one in the studio👌.

Gotta question tho… gonna be going on vacation in a week, I wanna travel light with a setup..thinking the 404 mk2, the heat and that’s pretty much it.. can you route the heat right in to the sp..or do I need another interface?…normally it’s going into my mixer in the studio. Kinda stupid question..but routing signal path trips me up at times..🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️😬.. keep the vids coming tho..love this channel!✌️

Let's say I connected the thing to my mpc one, how do I record the whole thing?
How do I make a track with effects that I can then export

This video has made me serously consider purchasing it. I think it a lot of ways even if yoiu dont use the full range of features on a device, if it does what you need it to do, then its worth it.

It's great to have a piece of kit that isn't yet another sampler! Just got mine and really enjoying using it. Build quality is amazing compared to 404 and MPC

I love it, mainly the filter, not so much its noise floor. Tend to use the clean circuit or rough drive with the wet mix pulled all the way back for the sound of a transistor

I had one and sold it because I wasn’t fully using it. It does sound really good. I would like to have another one but the cost is a no go

i never had it, and have no idea what the fuss is about. and ill probably keep it that way because for the money id want to try a new mpc/maschine etc

That right side comes in handy for aggressive sounding synth patches

Thanks for the review. Still sitting on the fence with this unit. Only because of the price point....One day, I might cave in lol

Listen mate, you don't have to use every part of a tool to be getting your money out of it. It's that it does that thing you want well and that you use it.

With that said, it's not my money 😅

My thing is, this compared to an Octatrack, sure the Heat is analog. But the AH is basically one channel on my OT. And the Octatrack 8 tracks 🙃
